The craft that I bring you today is very simple and easy to do. A pompom made from plastic straws. A decorative craft, and ideal, both for parties, or if it is made in a single color (for example red) even to decorate at Christmas or any other party. It is very simple and easy to do, it will take you very little time, in 5 or 10 minutes you can have a similar pompom. Even if you have children, you can make this craft with them that they will surely love, in those moments of boredom that so often takes them.
I show you how I have done it so that you can (or can) make one like it!
Materials
- Nylon cable ties
- Colored plastic straws
- Sewing threads
- Scissors
Our Process
- When cutting the straws, cut them at the flexible part. Leaving the entire elongated part, as you can see in the photo.
- Once you're done, grab one of the nylon zip ties.
- Pile them all together, trying not to have any sticking out, and wrap the flange around it to tie the straws.
- Tighten the nylon tie, as far as can you, then it will facilitate the following process. You can leave the beginning of this task to the little helper you have, but in the end, you just got it right. The more you tighten it the better. (Trick: Squeeze the straws with your fingers, and then it will be easier for you to tighten the zip tie)
- Separate the tips of the straws, bend them as much as you can, and when straightened, they will give that turned and round shape that I show you in the second image.
- Cut a piece of yarn, and tie it to the center finally. And with that it will be ready to put it as an ornament!
