Hello everybody. Although we are not officially in summer yet, the temperatures suggest that we can start enjoying the beach, the pool and more time outdoors.
In this post I show you how I have done myself a printed canvas beach bag for this summer, to be able to store everything comfortably in it and go to the beach, hiking or swimming pool prepared.
Materials I used to make the beach bag
- Printed canvas.
- Scissors and tape measure.
- Sewing thread.
- Pins.
- Sewing machine.
Procedure
The first thing i did was measure the fabric and cut it according to the beach bag size I wanted. I wanted a pretty big beach bag. I cut a rectangle of fabric that I used for the bag itself and another one a little longer for the handles.
The approximate measurements of the bag are 40 × 45 centimeters and the handles are about 45 centimeters long and 8 centimeters wide.
Then, I cut into two equal parts the rectangle that I had cut for the handles of the beach bag. And the next thing I did was sew the edges of each piece.
Then fold each piece of fabric joining the edges in the middle and then in the middle again and I basted them to sew them on each side as seen in the images.
When I was done with the handles, the next thing I did was sew the edge of the bag and presented the handles and sewed them at the same time that she sewed the edge of the beach bag.
For the handles I left a 12 centimeter gap from the edge Outside and also on this edge I made two seams, one upper and one lower to give it more resistance.
The next is sew the sides of the bag. I have left enough margin inside on the sides to rectify the size if I did not like it but once I saw the finished bag what I did was cut it since I was satisfied with the result and the final size of the beach bag.
Once we have the whole bag sewn, what remains is flip it over and mold the seams. We can also pass it a soft iron. And ready! Our beach bag is finished and we can fill it with things and go out to enjoy the good weather.
