In addition, they are an ideal way to combat this heat that haunts the entire Iberian Peninsula. No sooner said than done!. This week, we will dedicate it to decorating for summer parties.
In today's tutorial, we will show you an easy and inexpensive way to decorate with candles and in passing, drive away those guests that nobody wants at their parties: mosquitoes.
Material
- Canning jars.
- Pieces of t-shirt yarn, T-shirt or laces.
- Scissors.
- Citronella candles.
Our Process
This tutorial can be done as a family and thus teach the little ones the importance of recycling and caring for the environment. In addition, we will create with the recycled cans some great decorative accessories that will serve us, apart from candle holders, as a container for candies, as a pencil, as a container to store pasta or rice, etc.
We will take some cans of preserves to reuse them as containers for candles. We will put them in hot water to remove the advertising stickers more easily. Afterwards, we will clean them very well to remove the smell of preserves and we will let them dry.
Once the boats are dry we will cut some strips of fabric. If we don't have fabric we can make the strips with an old t-shirt. For that, we will cut strips of about two centimeters wide and we will stretch them so that they are curled just as the cloth comes.
Once we have the strips we will tie them with a loop to the top of the canning jar. Finally, we will only have to insert a candle and we will have our boats with candles ready to decorate.
