Recycled jars with decoupage

Recycled jars with decoupage

We always like to recycle everyday and beautiful objects. In case you did not know, with many cans that you use and throw away you can make these beautiful cans with a vintage look. We have decorated them with the decoupage style, an easy technique made with drawings of paper napkins and white glue. To finish we have placed a little jute rope, an original touch for this craft.

The materials that I have used for the boats:

  • 2 cans or cans with a silver look.
  • Napkins with vintage style flower drawings.
  • White glue.
  • A brush.
  • Fine jute style rope in two different colors.
  • Hot silicone and his gun.
  • Scissors.

You can see this craft step by step in the following video:

First step:

We prepare our boats, with one of the openings made and taking care that they are not sharp. Each boat must be completely clean of paper or glue residue. The silver-colored jars are perfect for this craft.

Second step:

We choose the drawings that we want to capture and we cut them out of the napkins. We detail in cutting out as much as we can each corner of the drawing. Once cut we separate the layers that the napkin has. We will keep the layer where the drawing is captured.

Third step:

With a brush we spread the entire layer with white tail. It must be done with great care so that the paper does not tear. Immediately we will stick it in the pot and with the help of the fingers we will spread the drawing well, without wrinkles.

Fourth step:

Once the drawings are pasted we can review them with a little white glue and a brush. It will be so that the drawing is more fixed and glued. We are going to decorate the lower part of the boat. With jute rope, decorative and with color, we are going to spin it around the boat. We will stick it step by step with the hot silicone so that it remains fixed. We will do 4 to 5 laps. We will have already finished our boats and we can use them for many things.
