repurpose a stool as a nightstand

stool

How are you DIY friends? Did you do a lot of DIYs over the weekend? We hope so and that you have also put some of our tutorials into practice which, as always, are easy, inexpensive and very focused on recycling and reuse.

This week we are going to propose an idea to give a different use to a stool. We are going to reuse a stool and use it as a nightstand or as a side table. We are sure that you will have a corner of the most ideal.

Material

  1. Un stool.
  2. Un piece of cloth.
  3. The pair of scissors.
  4. One centimeter.

Our Process

stool1

We will choose a piece of fabric that we like to use as a base to place objects on the lower part of the stool. Once the piece of cloth has been chosen, we will measure the base of the stool and cut a square of fabric of the same dimensions.

stool2

We will take the fabric and make one diagonal cuts in the corners. Then we will tie the corners to the base of the legs of the stool. This is how we will create a support to place, for example, books. In this case, I have used knitted fabric and I have left it as is so that, with the weight, it is as if it were a basket, but the base can be made in different ways.

For example, We could put a fullola base under the fabric to make it a solid support. Another idea, would be place more than one shelf, for this, we would only have to fix it with some strong glue.

As well we can paint the stool in bright colors that make it stand out and thus it will be more original.

Finally, once we have the stool ready, we will only have to place it in a corner and finish decorating it with a lamp or some flowers.

Until the next DIY! And remember, if you liked it, comment, share and give the like.
