Another basic to decorate, as with tassels, are pompoms. Most know how to make pompoms from a cardboard hoop, but in this craft we are going to make mini pom poms with the help of a fork. You will see that quick and easy eg.
Are you ready?
Materials that we are going to need
- Wool of the colors we want
- tenedor
- Scissors
Hands on craft
- We roll up the wool on the fork, trying that the different passes are as close together as possible. Another important thing to keep in mind is to let the forks of the fork show on both sides of the ball that we are forming with the wool.
- When we have made a thick ball, we cut the wool thread. The thicker it is, the more chubby will come out our pompom.
- We cut a piece of wool about eight inches and we pass it through the central hole of the forks of the fork. We tie a knot loose to mark where the center of the pompom will go, and we bring the ball to the end of the fork. This is to lower the tightness of the yarn turns and to be able to tighten the knot well. We tighten the knot as much as possible and we make another knot on top.
- We take the ball off the fork and we cut the ends.
- We crush the pompom to cut it more evenly and we do it roll between thumb and forefinger to fray wool and become more voluminous. We touch up the hairs of the pompom and that's it.
As you have seen, it is very easy to make these mini pompoms and they are perfect for decorating cushions, bags, curtains, clothes and even for making rugs by putting them all together. Everything you can think of.
Soon we will decorate a cushion with tassels and pompoms to give it a boho style. To be pendient!
I hope you cheer up and do this craft.
