Well, this is your craft!

Materials you will need:

materials to make sailing

  • One or more candles that you like.
  • A lighter
  • A knife and spoon or a pourer
  • Fake candles that tinkle like a flame (in my case, the candles have a battery that lasts for about 24 hours and is charged by light)

Hands on craft

  1. Light the wick. While the wick is lit, do not leave the candle unattended. The idea is that it goes away softening the wax a little around the wick, a couple of minutes should be enough. safe candle
  2. Stick the knife and you see emptying the inside from the candle, help yourself from the spoon too. When you see that the wax is hard again, light the wick again and repeat the whole process. You Empty minimum until the dummy candle enters the candle and does not appear above. For the candle in this craft, I am going to empty halfway, but in other candles that I have made with this same system, I have emptied almost to the bottom.  candle emptying
  3. Once we have emptied as much as we like, we light the wick once more and in the meantime we scratch the interior walls of the candle a little to remove any traces of soot. We turn off the wick and With the help of the spoon we are going to smooth the interior surface where we will later arrange the false candle.
  4. We touch up the edge top of the candle (in this case I have decided to cut it following the decorative motif of the candle) and wash the candle with cold water to cool it and remove any loose bits of wax.  candle craft
  5. Finally, We put a piece of paper or plastic inside the emptied candle and insert the false candle. All that remains is to place it where we like the most. Candles

I leave you some images of other candles that I have made with this system so that you have more ideas.
