Materials that we will need to make our woven cushion
- Fabric woven with our homemade loom with colored wool
- A scissor
- Stuffed. It can be from an old plaid, an old cushion, or even old clothes. In my case I will use two jerseys.
Hands on craft
- First of all we will have to weave the fabric with the colors that we like for our cushion, for this we leave you in the following link the craft to create a homemade loom with just a piece of cardboard. - Once we have our fabric, it is time to create our cushion. In this case we are going to make one in a cylindrical shape.
- We will tie the ends of wool on one of the sides so that the fabric does not unravel. We will make a simple knot between the two strips of wool in the corner and with the strip that is closest to the third strip we will tie again. In this way, all the strips will be well joined. We can repeat this step several times, I have done it 4.
- We are going to take the strip from one of the ends of the side that we have left untied and we will pull it to close one of the sides and we make a knot to fix it well. We will repeat the process with the strip at the other end to close on the other side.
- Now we will knot the rest of the strips to prevent the fabric from unraveling as we did in the first step. Once we tie them, it will be enough.
- The next step is close the hole of the cushion for this we will conserve the two sides with a strip from one end. When we have half closed we fill the cushion and finish closing.
- By way of decoration we can shape the strips as fringesWe can leave them very short or we can tie them two by two and cut the excess leaving some decorative knots.
